This program has been to give participants a basic understanding of
the Islamic faith and to understand that, as in many religions, there
is an element of extremism. It is also important for participants to
understand how the message of Islam has been twisted to affect
the varying aspects of international terrorism today.

Furthermore, this course may be used as an instructional course for
Department of Homeland Security (DHS) management, staff and
employees of organizations such as, but not limited to, Customs
and Border Patrol (CBP), Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE),
Transportation Security Administration (TSA), fusion centers, police
departments and sheriffs’ offices across the country.

Although this program is designed
to train first responders on dealing
with the threat of terrorism in local
communities, it may be tailored to
include effective investigative
techniques, intelligence gathering,
interviewing tactics, and asset
recruitment and development.
